The rest of the children are waiting…

While the moviegoers reveled in watching the hero of Gotham City a masked gunman killed 12 and wounded several others. A fortnight later people seeking blessings of their God were slain at Wisconsin. Nineteen days later two people killed and eight wounded at New York city during the tourist season.

A month of no such news and then it happened again. Five people killed at Minneapolis. Three people killed at Milwaukee and only three weeks later, a most shocking death of 20 children at a Connecticut elementary school.

The children knew not what happened and why, perhaps it is the only solace that we have. It was the Wild West where guns and arrows ruled. Now it is only guns.

In India hardly any day passes without the headlines reporting death due to murder, accidents, and negligence but it is not often we read of mass killing or wanton berserk action of shooting innocent bystanders.

Is it possible to make buying guns less easy? On the other hand we can make it so easy that everyone can get a gun and then it is up to the individual to protect themselves.

As I said before the rest of the children are waiting…

  1. Perhaps the stupidest policy of USA. Guns have to be banned.

    • I completely agree. I believe all guns should be banned, unfortunately, many in this country do not feel the same, therefore, in order to accomplish any substantial positive change, e.g., banning of person-to-person transactions, concessions must be made. It is a ludicrous uphill battle. Thank you for your post; I thoroughly enjoyed it.
